2. Placement Testing

All accepted students are required to take a math and English placement test in order to register for courses. The Accuplacer is a standardized placement assessment which will enable us to place you into appropriate courses. The exam takes 2 to 3 hours and consists of four parts:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Computer Skills
  • Mathematics
  • Writing Sample

To take the Accuplacer:

  1. Visit CAPS (Center for Academic Planning and Support) either on-campus or online for testing times. They are located in the Main Building in the HUB.
  2. Complete the Accuplacer Testing Form.
  3. Bring the completed form to the Bursar's Office. Pay the $20 fee with cash, check or by credit card.
  4. Bring your payment receipt and form to CAPS when you are ready for testing. In addition, you will need two forms of identification, including a picture ID.
