Step-by-Step Admissions Process

Instructions for International Students
Take a Course at MCC

Only completed files will be reviewed for admission. It is your responsibility to make sure all required documents are received by the Office of Admissions.

Manchester Community College is committed to an open enrollment process, welcoming students who are seeking a degree, certificate, or coursework for skills or personal enrichment. The following steps will guide you through the admissions process at MCC.

As a note, New Hampshire residents are given preference over all others. Second priority is given to New England (CT, MA, ME, RI, VT) residents.

1. Plan Ahead

MCC offers rolling admissions for all programs (except Nursing, see below), which means you can apply at any time. However, we recommend that you begin the admissions process at least 4 weeks before your first semester.

  • Nursing Program:

Nursing program applicants must submit all required documents no later than February 1. If the class is not filled with qualified applicants by that deadline, we will accept applications until July 1.
  • Financial Aid Deadlines:

If you are seeking financial aid for your first semester, you must complete the admissions process and FAFSA / financial aid application 6 – 8 weeks before the semester begins.
Complete your FAFSA application by May 1 (for the upcoming academic year) to receive additional state of New Hampshire funding, if eligible. (Your application for admission may be submitted later.)
2. Submit Your Application

All students must complete an Application for Admission Adobe PDF.

3. Submit Your Transcripts

The next step is to submit records of your educational background, such as a transcript, GED, assessment examination, or academic portfolio. Follow the instructions below to help you complete this step.

  • High School Students / Graduates:

(You completed or are completing high school and have never attended college before.)
Submit transcripts from all high schools attended. If you submit your transcript while still in school, you will need to arrange for your high school to send a final transcript after graduation that confirms your successful completion of all high school requirements. If you earned a high school equivalency certificate or GED, submit the official score report.
  • Home-schooled Students:

(You did not graduate from a public, private or chartered high school and were educated at home.)
If you attended high school for any part of your secondary education, you will need to submit the transcript(s), in addition to any official documents regarding your home-schooling, which may include:
    > Transcript(s)
    > Letter from your local school district stating that you have completed a home school program
    > High school equivalency certificate or GED
    > Academic portfolio (descriptions of the subjects covered and assessment tools used)
    > Results of any Ability to Benefit exams (SAT, ACT, Accuplacer)
If there are any other documents that would help us assess your secondary education, please forward it to the Office of Admissions.
  • Transfer Students:

(You have taken credit courses at another college.)
If you have completed some college courses, you must submit your high school transcript or GED. You may forward your college transcript(s) for evaluation of transfer credits.
If you have earned an Associate’s degree or higher, then you may only need to submit your college transcript(s).
  • Returning MCC Students:

(You were previously enrolled at MCC, but have not taken classes in over a year. You would like to return to MCC now and complete your education.)
Contact the Office of Admissions to check if you need to re-submit your transcript(s). (However, you must still complete Step 2 above.) If you have taken courses at other colleges since last attending MCC, we recommend submitting the transcript(s) for evaluation of transfer credits.
4. Program-Specific Requirements

After completing the above three steps, check to see if your program of study has any additional requirements. These are outlined in the program descriptions.

5. Entrance Interviews

If you are applying to the following programs, you need to schedule a meeting with the program directors.

Only completed files will be reviewed for admission. It is your responsibility to make sure all required documents are received by the Office of Admissions.
